David Hankinson's Home Page
My physical home is in Richardson, Texas. I have 5 children, 10 grandchildren and am a retired engineer. I grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1951 and had a hitch in the US Navy as an electronics technician aboard a wooden minesweeper. In 1959, my class was the last to graduate from Iowa State College before it became Iowa State University. Immediately after graduation, my profession as an electrical engineer began with computers in the employee of Collins Radio Company in Richardson, Texas in 1959 when the language of choice was FORTRAN and the input media was punched cards. My career spanned hardware design, systems engineering, software engineering and the last 20 years in program management for large computer systems engaged in message switching. Since retiring I have traveled, have done consulting under the name of PC Quest and have worked for Census 2000.
My wife shares my interests and is my constant companion in my various endeavors.
